Welcome

Chulmleigh College is a highly popular fully inclusive state secondary school for pupils age 11-16. Situated in a beautiful rural location, we pride ourselves on traditional values and high academic expectations for all pupils.

In recent years our school has grown by more than 40%, as our reputation across Devon is such that we are the chosen school for many families who live a great distance outside our designated school area.  We are incredibly proud of this reputation and every member of staff works hard to sustain it.

It is part of the Chulmleigh Academy Trust, a group of three primary schools (East Worlington, Lapford and Chulmleigh) and Chulmleigh College.

Chulmleigh College's Unsung Heroes This week we would like to put the spotlight on Mrs Stevens, one of our Pupil Support Officers. On a day-to-day basis pupils access the Pupil Support Office for any number of reasons that vary from a cut knee to a lost bag. It is through the Pupil Support Office that the safety net of our pastoral care provision is offered, and the provision is open to pupils who need it throughout the day (although for non-emergencies pupils attend at break and lunchtimes). Mrs Stevens has worked at the College since 2022 and is well liked by our pupils. Mrs Stevens cares for and supports pupils not only when they are in need but also to share in their successes. The College is a complex organisation with many moving parts and the Pupil Support Team ensure that the pastoral needs of our pupils are attended to with care, discretion and support. The best care we can offer is a first-class education and we are fortunate to have two dedicated colleagues who help to ensure our pupils are supported beyond the classroom. "One of the things I like about Chulmleigh College is the dedication and hard work all staff bring to their roles. The support given to every pupil to help them achieve their goals highlights the standards we have here. What I love most about my role is simply being there to help pupils whether it is just reuniting a lost item or making their day just that bit brighter by listening and helping with problems they might be having. I am very proud of the pupils at Chulmleigh College and all the effort they put in to achieving the most of their time in school." Mrs Stevens, Pupil Support Officer
