We have had a week of measuring fun in Robins Class as part of our 'Dazzling Dinosaurs' topic. We have been measuring life-size dinosaur footprints from the tiny compsognathus who was the size of a chicken, to the enormous sauropods, some of whom had footprints as large as 2 metres long! We found that every Year 1 child could fit on to the diplodocus footprint! Reception ordered the footprints by length, and had lots of fun measuring our toy dinosaurs using cubes. We finished off the week by designing, measuring and making our own junk model dinosaurs which we will be using to create a short film.
