Last week Robins Class were busy making perfume ready for Mothers' Day. The children used a base carrier oil and added different essential oils, experimenting with the various fragrances to see which combination they preferred. Only one or two drops of each oil were needed, so we had to concentrate very carefully as we used the pipettes and vials. Children used some fantastic descriptive language to talk about the different smells they encountered: "flowery and like tiny petals", "fresh and juicy like oranges", "it smells sweet and it relaxes you and makes you feel happy and calm", "this one smells like the wood on trees." The children took home their creations for their Mums to try. We hope you liked them.
