CCC's Community Hamper project

Generous and talented students support local community

The College decided to share their festive cheer with the local community to ensure that everyone gets to celebrate Christmas this year!

Miss Chapman, Head of Art, who organised the project said “we can often forget those who are on their own, lonely or in need of some support and friendship over the festive season and so decided to give something back to our community through a whole school Christmas Hamper Project.  We worked in partnership with our local councillor Sue Croft and the local Food Bank in order to help the most ‘in need’ and bring some festive cheer".

The idea required each student to bring in one food item from home and then each tutor group was tasked with creating an originally designed hamper.  Judging was undertaken by Mr Johnson and Mrs Croft, before the hampers were delivered to the Town Hall for all to admire during the Christmas Fair and light switch on. The students worked hard to design some fantastic festive hampers and prizes have been awarded for creation, imagination and quality of their hamper.

We hope to make this an annual event so we can help everyone enjoy this time of year.
