Gifted and Talented students get a lesson in Spanish
Gifted and Talented students from years 7, 8 and 9 attend a 3 hour Spanish session
Gifted and Talented language students from years 7, 8 and 9 at Chulmleigh Community College attended a 3 hour Spanish training session with national languages consultant Chris Fuller.
The students were challenged to work out from Spanish (which they did not know), the linguistic patterns and clues to allow them to reform complex constructions into their own words. This allowed them to create an educational campaign, in Spanish, against the issue of cyberbullying. With no prior learning to help them, the students created a series of amazing pieces and were able to reflect far more on how languages actually work - lessons which they will now be able to put to practical use as they take further steps to improve their French!
Chris Fuller said "the students were an absolute pleasure to work with and showed great skill in the face of the challenges that I set them. In short, I was impressed!"
Well done to all those students involved - we are sure you will have found the session of great benefit for future French lessons.
