History club has made a good start on its first project.
We are surveying our church yard and recording the names on all of the grave stones. This will form a database available to the public, with a plan of the church yard so graves can be located easily. The children are working very diligently to record the information carefully. As the database is building up, and we have about 50 graves so far, it's interesting to see trends in the data. The most common age when buried are 70 to 80 year old. So they lived to a good old age in the 1800s!
