Visit to Ley Farm
On Monday, we had the most wonderful visit to Ley Farm to see what life is really like on a rural hill farm.
It was a perfect crystal clear winter’s day and as Mr Walters and I looked down over the hill at all the children running down through fields filled with sheep and lambs, with a backdrop of the views of North Devon and Exmoor and hardly a cloud in the sky, we agreed that it was one of those days that will stick in the memory for decades to come. The children will never forget their visit to Ley and for this we are extremely grateful to the Bonner Family, not only for providing an exceptional learning environment, allowing children to get up close and personal to sheep, horses and cattle, but also for very welcome squash and cake before our journey home. Max was able to demonstrate how to deliver a vital injection to a new born lamb, and all the children had a go at feeding the lambs and giving them a cuddle.
