What brilliant sports all those parents and friends were who sat in the rain to support the children on our sports day last week.
As soon as we stepped out of school, the heavens opened and we then had to find jumpers and something to sit on before we could even begin. The children were not about to let a little bit of drizzle put them off their javelin throwing, shot putting, ball balancing or bean bag scoring and there was a great team spirit in each of the four teams. It is always such a pleasure to see the older children being so supportive of the younger ones. These games were followed by the running races and the individual races. Unfortunately we were not able to offer a parents race – which I know you were all disappointed about – because the grass was a bit too slippery for those without trainers. This was all followed by the wonderful tea provided by parents and PFA in the Village Hall. All children received a medal and a certificate. Mrs North had a lovely day and was delighted to meet many of you at the tea afterwards. She is looking forward to spending another day here on the 13th July.
