Football match against East Worlington
Burrington played their first match this year last term against East Worlington.
It was a cracking game, with both teams playing their hearts out. Freddie Davies started the ball rolling (no pun intended!) by scoring the first goal. A great start and morale booster for the team. Before long, EW had retaliated with 2 more and by half time the score was 3:1. Not to be daunted, Josh Porter played a fantastic game in goal, saving several attempts by the opposition and clearing the ball to safety for his team mates! After half time, a second goal was scored by Sam Easton, followed by a super penalty by Freddie, right in the corner of the net! The game finished 8:3 (depending on who you are!), but it was a sterling performance by the Burrington team. A special well done to Imogen, the only girl on the team and she smiled all the way! A big thank you must go to Sean from EW for bringing his team across. And of course for the oranges at half time (brings back those Saturday morning games in the freezing cold for some of us!), and also for the sausage rolls at the end of the game. Thanks to Sam for refereeing and our PFA for drinks and bickies! Well done Burrington
