About Us

Our Pre-School is in the village of Lapford which is situated in the beautiful Devon countryside between Dartmoor and Exmoor.  The premises are light, airy and cheerful and we have our own enclosed playground.  We have very good links with the School, going to the School hall where a hot lunch is available if required.

We welcome children from any of the surrounding villages, regardless of which school they will attend at their next stage of learning.

The Pre-School is open 38 weeks each year.  We are closed during local school holidays, including half-term breaks.

We are open 3 days each week.  We provide up to 18 hours care and education between 9.15 am and 3.15 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

We are registered to take children aged between 2 and 5 and offer up to 15/30 hours free childcare a week for eligible children.

Ofsted 2015 - "Good" - 'All children are progressing well in their learning and development. They are developing independence and have many opportunities to make choices and decisions in their play and learning. They are well prepared for their next stages in learning and for transitions on to school.'

'Children are extremely happy and content in this very friendly and welcoming pre-school.  They are confident and independent as they choose where and what they play with. Staff consistently model positive behaviour and, as a result, children behave well, show respect for others and play harmoniously together. Children learn to keep themselves safe and healthy. Staff help to prepare children well for their move on to school. Children enjoy daily outdoor play in all weathers and attend events within the local community, such as visits to the fire station and the primary school's harvest festival.'
