Key Stage 3

During Key Stage Three Students are given a broad experience of working with Wood, Metal, Plastic, Electronics, Technical Drawing and ICT. Through design and make projects and focused practical tasks to meet these aims. The experiences provided at Key Stage Three enable students to make an informed choice when selecting Technology options for GCSE and meets the new national curriculum programme of study for Key Stage 3.

Key Stage 4

During Key Stage Four Students study AQA syllabuses for Food Technology and Resistant Materials. The Construction course follows a BTEC first diploma syllabus.

The Resistant Materials course is 60% course work and a 40% single final examination at the end of Year Eleven.

The courses offered give opportunities to gain skills, knowledge and understanding needed in the workplace to solve problems effectively, make other areas of the curriculum relevant, and draws on student experiences outside of school.
