Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Grade E (£11.24 per hour)

8 Hours per week x 39 weeks per annum

Required from September 2019

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed, patient and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team. The role of the successful candidate will be to provide cover for teacher non contact time for a mixed age, Key Stage 2 class. We are able to offer a level of flexibility regarding the work pattern for the right candidate.

The key responsibility of the successful candidate will be to work under an agreed system of supervision/management to plan, prepare and deliver lessons to groups/whole classes in the absence of the class teacher.  Subjects to be covered will depend on the specialisms offered by the candidates and will be agreed with the teacher.

Candidates should demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Hold a Level 3 HLTA qualification (Regulated Qualifications Framework)
  • A good standard of English and Mathematics
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patience and positivity
  • Support inclusion and be fully committed to ensuring the very best for all our pupils
  • The ability to support colleagues, use positive behaviour management strategies and ensure the school continues its excellent provision for all pupils

The weekly work pattern is flexible and open to negotiation but afternoon coverage is preferable. In the first instance, this role will be fixed term to August 2020, pending a restructure.
