Positive Behaviour Policy
We have a Positive Behaviour Policy which aims to encourage and reward students' positive behaviour through a system of rewards, and details how we will work with a student to improve less positive behaviour.
Positive behaviour is constantly encouraged in a number of ways at the College, including the use of rewards. Rewards are based around a Housepoint system, with each House in termly competition to win the most House points and be rewarded with a social event or trip.
Occasionally students come to our attention for reasons that are not so positive. We aim to ensure that all incidents are dealt with fairly and at the lowest possible level. The students' own Peer Parliament reviews the Code of Conduct annually and our sanctions are based on this. Usually students who have infringed the Code of Conduct will be required to do a half hour departmental detention.
More serious incidents, or repeated inappropriate behaviour will be dealt with by Heads of House or Senior Leaders. Directors have established a Support Panel to review the most serious incidents.
Student achievement is recognised through Presentation Evenings to which parents are invited. This is a time for celebration of academic excellence, achievement and effort. At these events students showcase their skills to entertain the audience, building confidence and self-esteem.
