Pupil Premium: The school is given additional funding for those children who are in receipt of free school meals, children-in-care and children with a parent in the armed forces. These funds are used to ensure that the children in these groups are supported to achieve the very best they can. At Burrington Primary School the Pupil Premium funding is used to provide a dedicated Teaching Assistant in both classes. Class 1 contains 3 year groups and Class 2 contains 4 year groups, so this provision ensures that the needs of these diverse age-groups can be met. Teaching Assistants have received specialist training to enable them to work in a focused way with those pupils who need 1:1 support. The progress of pupils in receipt of Pupil Premium is closely monitored so that the need for interventions is quickly identified and specialist support can be put in place without delay.
